Recycling

There is a recycling drop-off bin in the Southwater parish church carpark that takes some items that cannot be recycled in the council's kerbside bins or at  local supermarkets

These items are currently accepted for recycling 

  • Asthma inhalers
  • Contact lenses
  • Spectacles
  • Disposable razors
  • Toothbrushes, toothbrush heads, interdental brushes
  • Blister packs
  • Small bottle tops
  • Milk bottle tops
  • Rubber gloves
  • Wine corks
  • Water filters
  • Pens, felt tips, highlighters etc
  • Pencils and crayons
  • Postage stamps
  • Old or foreign currency
  • Ink cartridges
  • Mobile phones
  • Ferrero Rocher boxes & trays
  • Lipstick, mascara, eye pencils, shadow - other beauty products
  • Plastic and wax wrappers from bread (also taken at supermarkets)
  • Plastic wrappers from bakery products (also taken at supermarkets)
  • Plastic wrappers from biscuits and cakes (also taken at supermarket)
In addition the following items are taken at the Sustainable Southwater stall sponsored by Sussex Green Living in Lintot Square on the second Saturday every month between 10am-12pm 

  • Small electricals like kettles and irons
  • ipads and tablet computers
  • MP3 players and games consoles
  • Gadgets like sat naves
  • Cables & leads
  • Digital and video camera
  • Film

Vapes and batteries are taken by the Co-op (hand them in at the manned desk)
