Weddings

We are really pleased to hear that you are wanting to get married.  If you live in Southwater and are wanting to get married in the church here, your first step is to check our calendar for availability and then complete and return the application form as soon as possible.

If you live in Southwater but are planning to get married in another church, you will need to fill in this form and send it to the minister of the church in which you wish to get married.  You will also need to send me a copy so that I can arrange for the reading of the banns.

The fees for weddings do change each year, but the following Wedding Costs for this year will give you an idea of what to expect.

The Wedding Service at Holy Innocents

It is good to think about planning your service before other things take over.  We have included in the links some information that we hope you will find essential to preparing the service.

You will need to choose music, hymns and readings.  This is a typical order of service.  You will need to consider what flowers you would like in church.  We encourage you to use this occasion to give benefit others, by having a collection at the end of the service.  Why not choose one of the charities that we support as a church?

Your wedding day is an exciting day, but is only the first day of your married lives.  As part of your preparation for marriage, we recommend that you attend a marriage course if you can.  For those unable to attend the full course, we run a shortened course on Sunday evenings throughout February and March.  We do expect all couple being married at Holy Innocents to attend a marriage course, so please do plan tomake time for it.

There are many helpful websites that enable you to think more about what to consider when planning your wedding.   You may find the following ones helpful.
