A time of reflection and preparation before the Easter celebration when we journey together with Jesus.
We offer a range of events through Lent. You are warmly invited to join us for as many events as you choose.
If you have any questions, please contact us
For Holy Week please see our Easter page
13 February at 7:30pm
A chance to use up all those goodies on "Fat Tuesday" before the solemnity and quietness of Lent begins.
Much as we'd love to cook pancakes from scratch, our kitchen simply can't cope - so please bring your own pancakes.
We will have hot drinks and a friendly atmosphere!
Gather from 7pm .... All are welcome!
14 February at 10am and 8pm
It may be Valentine's day, but it is also Ash Wednesday on 14 February 2018.
Join us for Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes - where the priest makes the sign of the cross on your forehead with ashes. The ashes are burned palm crosses that were blessed on Palm Sunday in 2017.
Traditionally, ashes are the symbol of grief. They help us to mark out the start of the season of Lent.
Tuesday evenings from 20 February
meet at 7:45pm for 8pm
Thursday mornings from 22 February
meet at 10:15am for 10:30am
We are running the six week Diocesan Lent course which ties into the Year of Prayer. We will explore art as an aid to prayer. Nobody will be asked to draw anything and no prior knowledge is assumed.
This course will be held in homes around the village so please contact the wardens if you want too know where the sessions will be held.
First Sunday: Journey with Jesus
4 March Tea and coffee from 7pm, service starts at 7:30pm
10 March at 12 noon in the Church Rooms
This popular family event wise when we gather to share the tastiest home-made soups, and as we break bread we aren't just having great conversations with good friends we are raising funds to help those with so little.
Our chosen group are the manual scavengers of Trivandrum, Southern India. They clean the dirtiest waste from latrines, sewers and septic tanks by hand.
Even the smallest donation can help a family's chances. They lost everything after the Chennai floods in December 2015. Now we seek to help them by providing a sanitation system and other assistance.
11 March 10am service
This popular and family friendly service is where we celebrate mothers of all kinds,
- our birth mothers
- our mothers who raised us
- our adopted mothers or anyone who is like a mother to us
- those whose mothers are no longer with us
- those whose mothers need us to care for them
- those who are mothers with growing families, and,
- those who long to be mothers and for some reason cannot be a mother.
We also recall those children (of any age) who would dearly love someone to call "mother" but through death, illness, or other cause, do not have a loving mother of their own.
Together, we share a loving God who is both father and mother to us all.
