Landlubbers Holiday Club

Our Holiday club for children aged 4 to 9

ran from Tuesday 28th August to Friday 31st August

and finished with a special celebration

on Sunday 2nd September

We had a really great week.  Please  read through what we did each day, and follow the links to look at the pictures of activities and games, crafts and drama, and much, much more.

The Landlubbers found themselves stranded on a desert island.  Looking after them were their two pirate captains, Heave-Ho and Yo-Ho.  The week started with them discovering a treasure map!

They soon realised that they were not the only ones stuck on the Island.  Captain Kate and her crew had decided that they wanted to lead a new life, but also needed to get off the Island for this to happen.  They were not sure who would help them.

Another mysterious person on the Island was Captain Book.  She was looking for letters written by a man called Paul, who had also been shipwrecked on the island.  She new alot about the treasure though, and helped Heave-Ho and Yo-Ho with the treasure clues.

As Heave-Ho and Yo-Ho were no good, the landlubbers went to their crew shelters to work out the clues, and try and fit it all together.

However, being on a treasure island, they wanted to play games and do a variety of different craft activities, which were great fun.  The children behaved, but some of the crew leaders were not so good, so had to walk the plank.  Lobsters and sharks turned up in many unexpected places all week!

It was such a good week, that we celebrated all that we had done at a special service on the Sunday, sang our favourite songs, and shared the treasure we had found - the greatest treasure of them all.
